Colombia es passion. Book 📚 about cycling 🚴

Excellent book about the new generation of Colombian heroes which is changing the history of the country and the history of the big competitions: The tour de France, The Giro d'Italia and La vuelta a España.

I enjoyed this audio-book very much. This week I have been telling everybody about it. The author's reading is very pleasant. Great research about the Colombian political and social environment. Now we know where the talent in Colombian cyclist comes from. This is an example of resilience and determination.

A great piece of writing by Matt Rendell 

Heroes in this book: Rigoberto Urán, Nairo Quintana  Jarlinson Pantano , Sergio Luis Henao, Egan Bernal, el campeón, Winner Andrew Anacona Gomez, Fernando Gaviria, Superman López, among other new young talented Colombian cyclists.

A view on friendships in the age of social media

I recently realised a friend of mine thought she was being a good enough friend by providing me with likes and occasional comments in my posts/ stories of Instagram.  While I appreciate that, it doesn’t replace at all what a call every now and then could do. Sharing more personal things and updating each other.  Note to self: Watch out on believing relationships will take care of itself through social media just by posting, watching  and commenting to stories others’ stories. We definitely have a need for connection which goes beyond. We ought to put the effort if we really want to develop quality friendships. Meeting, calling, writing a personalised message, asking for questions, listening and sharing.  Being more clear and intentional about friendships might be not a bad idea since relationships are often indicated as the main factor of lasting happiness.
