A view on friendships in the age of social media

I recently realised a friend of mine thought she was being a good enough friend by providing me with likes and occasional comments in my posts/ stories of Instagram.

While I appreciate that, it doesn’t replace at all what a call every now and then could do. Sharing more personal things and updating each other.

Note to self: Watch out on believing relationships will take care of itself through social media just by posting, watching  and commenting to stories others’ stories.

We definitely have a need for connection which goes beyond.

We ought to put the effort if we really want to develop quality friendships. Meeting, calling, writing a personalised message, asking for questions, listening and sharing.

Being more clear and intentional about friendships might be not a bad idea since relationships are often indicated as the main factor of lasting happiness.
