What does success really look like?

I believe that’s different depending on the stage of life where we are in. It is deeply influenced by our surroundings, upbringing and family. Often times when we finally achieve what we wanted so badly we realise there is some new sense of emptiness, so what really success look like then?

During high school and the University, success meant going to a top university, being ahead of everybody else and achieving finding a well paid job, buying a house, and to everybody’s eyes, that person was successful.

I did that. The top University, the engineering, not the job I skipped that, the living overseas, the buying a property and working very hard. Once that was done, it felt good, but what really means success in life? I did all of that to achieve recognition and status.

Now I believe I have a new better idea of what success look like, however, I now encounter a new challenge, the drive to do everything it takes is not there. New fears and self limitations have been strengthening, and the current state is rather comfortable. What does one do in those cases?

Still navigating and finding the way… What did success look for you 5 years ago? What does it look like nowadays? Has it changed?

To me, 5 years ago it was probably: competitiveness, recognition, adventure, hard work, learning.

Today, three words come to my mind when thinking of success: Health, motivation, impact.

Sergio. Meditations.
