Mission, redirect blessings

I found $50 while riding the bike! I thought of how lucky I was, until 20 minutes later riding the bike, I found another $50 on the floor! That’s quite a coincidence! 

I received this as a message from life and this was my interpretation: we are given in life so many blessings, it’s our duty to put them to the service of the right causes for us. I promised I’ll use those $100 to support a cause.

Later I realised how hard is to find a cause that I feel well contributing haha. One year later, we joined a bit more of money with close friends who also wanted to contribute and we all donated equipment for a musical school for kids in a small town in Colombia. 

Those $100 gave me one of my happiest moments and I didn’t even spent it on my self!

A view on friendships in the age of social media

I recently realised a friend of mine thought she was being a good enough friend by providing me with likes and occasional comments in my posts/ stories of Instagram.  While I appreciate that, it doesn’t replace at all what a call every now and then could do. Sharing more personal things and updating each other.  Note to self: Watch out on believing relationships will take care of itself through social media just by posting, watching  and commenting to stories others’ stories. We definitely have a need for connection which goes beyond. We ought to put the effort if we really want to develop quality friendships. Meeting, calling, writing a personalised message, asking for questions, listening and sharing.  Being more clear and intentional about friendships might be not a bad idea since relationships are often indicated as the main factor of lasting happiness.
